UN Women’s Michelle Bachelet on Progressive Change

Yesterday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon announced the appointment of former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet as head of UN Women, a newly created entity to oversee all of the world body’s programs aimed at promoting women’s rights and full participation in global affairs.

Earlier this year, Bachelet traveled to the UC Berkeley campus and shared her views on achieving progressive change in Latin America– which she’ll certainly apply in her new globally-focused position.
