Journalism in Flux
Throughout UCTV’s first decade, we’ve witnessed the news media struggle to redefine itself with mixed results. Just how much has journalism changed, and where is it headed? We’ve scoured our archives and created a fascinating video collection featuring journalists from every beat sharing their memories, opinions, and predictions.

UCTV 10th: Journalism in Flux

Symphonies Sizzle on UCTV

Mainstream media may be buzzing about Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, but UCTV viewers have shown that classical music has a place online and in our hearts by downloading our eight concerts from UC Davis Symphony and Chorus over 3.2 million times! Easily topping the list is the 2006 performance of Carmina Burana, with over 2.2 million downloads.

This month we’re adding a new performance to the mix, UC Davis Symphony Family Concert: Rossini, Beethoven,Mendelssohn, featuring Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” Overture, Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony (“Pastoral”) and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor with John Abdallah on the violin.

We’re also saying goodbye to Ives’ Symphony No. 4 and Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, which has its final airing on Sunday, June 13. This outstanding performance is only available on TV or live webstream (not on-demand), so don’t miss it!

Taking Control of Your Diabetes – Revamped!

This month we’re debuting an all new season of Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), the interview series hosted by renowned diabetes expert Dr. Steven Edelman. Edelman has been living with diabetes since he was fifteen years old, giving him a unique perspective on the disease and a passion for educating others. We’re excited about the show’s new topics and guests, but we’re equally ecstatic about the new and improved format—-including special segments on nutrition and exercise.

We’ll premiere a new program each month and add fresh web content to the TCOYD blog throughout the year.

This month it’s Diabetes Prevention with experts Dr. Matthias von Herrath and Dr. Robert Henry discussing the latest news about the prevention of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

The Next Decade in Energy Efficiency

Our country’s shift towards a “green economy” relies heavily upon improving energy efficiency, and the state of California is leading the way. The UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center gathered together industry and academic leaders in the field to share their perspectives on where we’re headed and why it’s important to all citizens.

Don’t miss the UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center’s Rosenfeld Series
